Million Dollar Looks

I love getting my client Kathryn Ireland ready for her hit show Million Dollar Decorators on Bravo! Each episode gives us a glimpse behind the gates of the Millionaire elite and inspiring tips for our own use. Looking like a million bucks is an important part of inspiring confidence in your clients whatever industry you are in.

Making sure that Kathryn doesn't have to worry about her hair is my contribution to her Million Dollar Looks! Since I am not able to be out in the field with her, I have to be sure that the volume will last throughout the shoot. We curl the sections of her hair, rolling underneath from the top with a curling iron and spraying at the roots for extra lift and the bottom of each section for extra body, with Paul Mitchell Sculpting Spray. Make sure to check out the show:

Andrea Bocelli and The 5 Cs

Andrea Bocelli started The Andrea Bocelli Foundation in Italy under public charter on July 17, 2011 working according to the following values:

Courage: the courage of believing in small or big changes that we can carry out, the courage of giving life to something true; the courage of being confident and transmitting confidence.

Care: caring about people around us, and realizing their problems and the strength of their distress.

Concreteness: working for giving real solutions to the problems we care about.

Competence: work is done professionally and with responsibility.

Cooperation: enabling positive relationships between donor/foundation and foundation/beneficiary, converging needs and will together.

The key value that summarizes the 5Cs is Trust. The trust we give and the trust we ask, the trust we inspire and the trust we live.

When I had the opportunity to work behind-the-scenes on their first Gala Concert on December 9- I was reminded how important Trust is on EVERY level. When you get in the chair to be styled, it is important that you are able to trust your hair and make-up artists, even if you have never worked with them before. This will ensure that you feel as great as you look when you leave the chair. This was my first time working with Ana Maria Martinez & Heather Headley and it was an important night for everyone. Their trust in the chair allowed me to work my magic under pressure and everyone looked beyond beautiful!

Rebecca De Mornay staying gorgeous

I first worked with the beautiful Rebecca De Mornay on the classic thriller The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. She is just as gorgeous as ever and we decided that lighter make-up gives a more flawless look for daytime sessions with movie directors. Less IS More. At EVERY age!

2011: a year of reflections

2011 was a busy year with clients taking me on the road from New York to South Beach to Paris! I had the distinct pleasure of ending the year working with the "World's Most Beloved Tenor" Andrea Bocelli on Dancing With The Stars and on Season 2 of Bravo's hit show Million Dollar Decorators with Kathryn Ireland. Some of my proudest work was doing hair and make-up for the presenters & performers of a filmed gala concert with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Grammy Museum Foundation. My old friend and producer of the event Jo Champa, says that "helping others is the gateway to becoming a better person" and I am always most inspired by my philanthropical work. Celebrities working together to use their powers for good and not evil is what I am hoping to see more of in 2012!

An important lesson we learned from Celebrity Beauty tips shared with us behind-the-scenes is to Remember to take time out for YOU!
