A Day With Mary Burton

Working with A-List make-up artist, Mary Burton is always a dream!  She's responsible for most of our favorite Angelina Jolie looks on and off the screen and countless Halle Berry films... So I always jump at the chance to team up again- this time, was for a private photo shoot at Madonna's former Beachwood home in the Hollywood Hills! Together, we designed multiple looks for a publicity shoot with director/photographer James Van Alden and up-and-coming ingenue, Madison Walls, from his latest film, A Numbers Game.
While I do both make-up and hair, Mary does only make-up, and is famous for saying, "if the hair doesn't look good, my make-up doesn't look good!"  Collaborating with Mary is fun because I get to concentrate on more detail and setting the latest new looks off the runways and on to the red carpets!

I prefer to do updos last in editorial shoots, because I like to really tease it up- I began with blow drying out Madison's hair for the long sleek looks and then for the updos loads of Big Sexy HairSpray and the medium blonde hair pins they make at Naimie's Beauty Center.

Madison has a full head of hair in real life, but for photos I like to use clip-on extensions on all my clients, with real human hair by Louis Ferre, available exclusively through Naimie's Beauty Center!  It's a healthier alternative to extensions, that doesn't rip or tear your hair, giving you an instantly fuller look for the runway or red carpet!  For this most voluminous look in the infamous Moroccan Room, I used
